Winner Wednesday: CVC Crossword Puzzles

Since this is the first Wednesday of the month, that means I get to link up with A Dab of Glue Will Do for her incredibly fun Winner Wednesday linky!!

This link up happens on the first Wednesday of every month, and we get to raffle off one of the products in our TPT store!

I love hopping around to the different blogs of who linked up and entering their giveaways, so much fun!!!

This is a packet of black and white printable crossword puzzles that focus on medial-vowel CVC words. Each vowel has several puzzles to go with it, covering various word families.

There are also several pages where the word families are all mixed up. Students look at the picture word clues labeled with a number and an arrow indicating if this is an across or a down clue. Then students find the matching label on the puzzle and write in the CVC word.

This puzzles are simple and easy for kinders to complete. They are perfect for morning work, homework, center rotations, or even to be left for a substitute to do! Make sure to enter the raffle using the Rafflecopter below!

Can you believe it's July already?? Why does the summer seem to fly by so very quickly??? I hope you are enjoying every last moment of your summer vacation!

Since this is the first Wednesday of the month, I am linking up with the super-sweet A Dab of Glue Will Do for her Winner Wednesday link up!

This link up is all about getting the chance to win some amazing products! In kindergarten, one of our Reading standards is to be able to identify the jobs of the author and illustrator and differentiate between them. I created this packet as a way for students to practice identifying the similarities and differences between the jobs of the author and illustrator.

There is a sorting activity for students to discuss which tools they believe are used by an author, which by an illustrator, and if there are any tools that could be used by both. I use the color version as my teacher set or the set that I put out at centers. There is a black and white set that can be made for each student to use.

There are also some writing pages included. Students are asked to draw and label three tools used by an author or illustrator, and then to choose one of the tools and write how it was used and what it was used for.

There are also cut and paste sorting pages to sort the tools used by each, as well as a page where students can sort the tools that both would use in their job.

The activities in this packet really help my kinders to understand the difference between the jobs of an author or illustrator. Winner Wednesday: Who Would You Put Here?

Happy Hump Day everyone! I know that many of you are already enjoying your summer break, and I hope you get lots of rest and have lots of fun! For the rest of us, hang in there the summer is so close!!

For this link up, you need to choose a product from your TPT store and raffle it off during Winner Wednesday. For the first Wednesday of every month you can link up to give away one of your products, then hop around to everyone else who linked up. So everyone who links up has the opportunity to go to another blog and enter a giveaway to win one of their products. How awesome is that??!!

For Winner Wednesday this month, I am giving away one of my all-time best sellers! 'Who Would You Put Here?' is a packet of activities designed to help kiddos understand the concepts of character and setting. This packet is over 60 pages long and is chock-full of different ways to identify the character and setting.

There are several types of activities in this packet. Lots of writing and illustrating.

There are pages where students are given a character and must draw the setting, as well as being given a setting and must draw the character.

There are cut and paste activities to put the characters into the most appropriate setting.

Perhaps the cutest part of this packet is the writing prompt where students are given a card. The cards are a mixture of character and setting. If a student gets a character card, they write their character on the line and then illustrate and identify the setting you would find that character in. And vice versa, if they get a setting card they are to write it on the line and then illustrate and label a character that could be found in that setting. My kinders had such a great time with this writing activity!

I love the time and attention to detail they put into their work!

In case you can't read kindergarten, this one says 'My setting is train so my character is conductor.'

'My setting is garden so my character is the flower.'

"My setting is tree so my character is a monkey."

"My character is owl so my setting is the forest."

I LOVE when we get to work on the activities in this packet, and the writing pages make an incredible hallway student work display as well as a really cool class book!
