Sunday Scoop 7-26-15

Ahh, Sunday. The day of the week widely known for relaxation and taking it easy. I'm currently relaxing on the recliner and using my laptop. What's your favorite way to relax on a Sunday? Personally I would love to be at the beach, but there' always next year!
Since it's Sunday, that means that I am linking up with The Teaching Trio for their totally fun Sunday Scoop linky party!

In case you're not familiar with this link up, you get to use the popular 3-2-1 organizer to tell us about your upcoming week. 3 things you HAVE to do, 2 things you HOPE to do, and 1 thing you're HAPPY to do.
Here's a peek at my week!!

HAVE TO
1. It is beyond past time to organize the files that are on my computer. My clipart is pretty well organized, so it's all the other files that need work. All of the different activities that i have downloaded as freebies or have paid for. Things sent to me from others. Honestly y'all, I don't even know what all I have on my computer anymore!! I need to weed things out and figure out what exactly I have so I now how to best use the resources that I've already saved!

2. I am getting really, really good at walking around using my walker. Next step is for me to start practicing standing up on my own two feet. I'm not quite ready to walk without the aide of the walker; it's still pretty painful to put weight on my ankle and my lower back ends up seizing up if I try moving without having the walker to lean on. However, I can usually stand up on my own. I'm practicing getting up from the couch and then just standing on my own two feet. I'm telling you guys, never ever ever take the simple stuff for granted!! Who knew I"d be almost 35 years old and having to re-learn the whole walking thing!!

3. Tomorrow is Round 8 of the laser surgery treatments on my ankle. I like the treatments not only because they are helping me, but because I get to get up and out of the house on 'doctor days'. I'm looking forward to a grown-up lunch and a trip to Target tomorrow!!! When you've been laid up on the couch for 7 months, it's the little things you start getting excited over!!

HOPE TO
1. I've been trying extra hard to create some new activities for the beginning of the school year. I need to get them finished up and posted to TPT. I'm one of those creators who needs to finish what I'm working on before I can start something new, otherwise I'd never get anything done! Gotta buckle down and crank out some creations!!

2. I'm headed back to school in a few weeks, and it's time to start making those seemingly never-ending lists of things that need to be done. Shopping lists, classroom set up lists, student lists, lesson idea lists...the lists go on and on! Lots of lists to write, so I should get started!!

HAPPY TO
I am very happy to figure out all the different ways I can use the incredibly amazing Pal that Lauren from Polka Dots and Pals created for me!!
Do you see this awesome creation?!?! I am so in love with how Lauren incorporated my obsession with al things dragon into my Pal!!! I'm also holding my cup of ice water, which I carry around with me everywhere! I am just so much in love with this Pal!! She does such an awesome job! You should definitely check out your own Pal! Lauren will be creating more Pals around Christmas time!!

Now that you've had a peek at my week, head on back to The Teaching Trio and see who else has linked up for Sunday Scoop!

Don't forget that it is not too late to link up with me for Spotlight Saturday! This link up is a Teacher's Show and Tell, where you can showcase your favorite products, activities, tips, tricks, resources, ideas, and anything else that is fabulous about your classroom life! Sunday Scoop 7-19-15

Yikes, there are only 2 weeks left in July!! I head back to school the third week in August. Fingers crossed that I will be able to return to school being able to walk using my own two legs!! If it's Sunday, that must mean it's time for the Sunday Scoop link up with The Teaching Trio!

This is a really fun link up! We get to share with you our upcoming week using the popular 3-2-1 Organizer! I get tot ell you three things I have to do, two things I hope to do, and one things I'm happy to do!

HAVE TO:

1. Go Shopping - I have to check out my local Target Dollar Spot again. I also want to visit the Dollar Tree for their Friends and Family Sale today, get things an extra 25% off!! Gotta love a good deal!! Plus, I have a few more things to pick up for the Teacher Gift Exchange hosted by Simply Kinder. Can't wait to mail my package off to my Secret Pal!!

2. Practice Walking Up and Down the Stairs - Just this past week I have been able to walk up and down the stairs with just my brace and using the hand rails on each side of the staircase. It takes me a while, and it hurts, but I am so excited to not have to crawl or use my crutches! I am practicing every day, and every day I am getting stronger!

3. Laser Treatment Round 7 - Tomorrow is my 7th laser surgery treatment on my ankle. So far it has really helped with bringing back the circulation and bringing down the swelling. I am finally able to walk again after 6 months, which is such a huge improvement for me!! I have another 3 rounds of laser treatments scheduled, then we'll see if I need any more!

HOPE TO:

1. Post Some New TPT Creations - I've been trying really hard to get some new creations in my store! I really want to help teachers get ready for the beginning of the year, and I'm hoping my newest creations will do that! Remember, for the first 24 hours each new creation is listed at 50% OFF!!

2. Get a Hair Cut - My hair has not fared well since the accident. After several nights in the hospital it got some ridiculously huge knots and snarls, some of which had to be cut out and that means my hair is all sorts of different lengths. I've had a lot of hair fall out since the accident. A. LOT. I'm hoping the stylist I see will have some advice for me!

HAPPY TO:

Learn About This Washi Tap Craze - I have recently received my VERY FIRST Erin Condren Teacher Planner. I have been stalking different blog posts and Pinterest boards to see the most effective way to utilize this brand new resource. I have seen so much flying around about Washi tape, but the only thing I know about it is that it is decorative tape. I would love love love to learn different ways this tape is used, especially with an Erin Condren Teaching Planner! Can't wait to figure out the best way to use Washi tape!!

You should swing back over to The Teaching Trio to see who else has linked up for Sunday Scoop! You can link up too!!

DON'T FORGET to link up for Spotlight Saturday! It's not too late to share your Spotlight! This link up is like a Teacher's Show and Tell, where you can showcase your favorite products, resources, tips, tricks, activities, ideas, and anything else about your classroom that you love! This week I am Spotlighting Tweets from Kindergarten, and I can't wait to read all about your Spotlight!

Sunday Scoop

Happy Sunday everyone!! I am already reading so many posts about flights to Vegas and landing in Vegas for the conferences...I'm definitely jealous but am SO making this a priority for next year!!

Today I am linking up with Teaching Trio for her very awesome Sunday Scoop link up. This is a great way to fill you in on my goals for the week!!

HAVE TO:
1. I MUST get my TPT Sellers Challenge Masterpiece done. I have been working on it for SO LONG!!! I am down to the very last activity in the packet and then am sending it off to a blogging bestie to get it edited!!

2. Regardless of how painful and uncomfortable it is, I have to keep walking! Even though it's only up and down the living room hallways, at least I am continuing to build up the muscles and strength in my ankle so that soon I will be able to walk without the help of a walker!!

3. I'm oh-so-jealous of all my wonderful blogging friends are heading off to Vegas for some really amazing conferences! I can't wait to see all of the pictures and read all of the posts, even though they do make me a bit sad that I'm not there! I am SO making this a priority for next year!! Barring any more accidents, you will see me in Vegas next year!!!

HOPE TO:
1. I really want to finish reading 'Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids' by Chris Biffle. I had not known anything about WBT so I am definitely learning a lot, and am spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to make it work in my classroom. I want to finish this book so I can start on the 'Teach Like a Pirate' book I bought.

2. I have spent so long on my TPT Sellers Masterpiece, it has totally absorbed my life! I have not worked on anything else since starting it, though I have kept running lists of new TPT ideas! I can't wait to finish up my Masterpiece so I can work on new creations!!

HAPPY TO:
1. I am oh-so-happy that Shark Week starts tonight!! I LOVE Shark Week and get totally absorbed with it every year! Even though it means that in another 8 short weeks I'll be heading back to the classroom, I still look forward to all the awesome shows that Shark Week brings! I think the sharks here on the East Coast are excited about it too, they keep making their presence known by biting swimmers and surfers from North Carolina all the way up through Delaware beaches! CRAZY!!!!! Makes me slightly glad that my ankle is keeping me away from the beach...my luck I'd become another shark bit statistic!! :-)

I hope you enjoyed reading about my goals for the week. I would love to read about yours too! Come on over to Teaching Trio and link up for Sunday Scoop!

You can still come link up for Spotlight Saturday too! I would love to hear you showcase your favorite products, resources, activities, and ideas! This week I am Spotlighting some amazing creations from the fabulous Karry from Yay for PreK! Come read all about it and link up too!!

Sunday Scoop

It's Father's Day!! Today I get to celebrate my amazing father, who is stronger than anyone I know. He has taken care of me my entire life, including since the accident in January that left me unable to walk. He has been so patient and caring, and I know there have been times I was cranky!! My dad is an example for what a dad should be, and I'm so lucky to have him as my dad!!

I hope you got to spend Father's Day celebrating with your family! I've been reading about some really awesome Father's Day traditions on Instagram and Facebook today, and they all are so cool! Did you do anything special for Father's Day today?

Since it's Sunday too, I've linked up with Teaching Trio for their super-fun Sunday Scoop linky. This link up allows you to look towards the coming week and see what you have to do, what you hope to do, and what you're happy to do. Teaching Trio even provides an awesome frame to use each week!

HAVE TO:

I need to use my Krista Wallden planner pads to sketch out my upcoming week! I find it's really helpful to write down what I want to accomplish for the week. This helps hold me accountable and also gives me something to cross off. I LOVE getting to cross things out once I complete them!!

Gotta clean up around here! The struggle is real, folks. I am fighting the never-ending battle of clutter!!
I also need to get some things up on TPT. I've been working on a packet for a while now and I really need to finish it, so I can start something new. Are you someone who needs to finish one project before you start another, or do you have several projects going on at once??

HOPE TO:

Get a head start on an awesome book study I found about on Instagram. It's being hosted by Time 4 Kindergarten and focuses on Whole Brain Teaching.

I don't know anything about Whole Brain Teaching so I'm excited to learn! I ordered my book from Amazon and hope to get started reading it as soon as it gets here! This is the very first Facebook book study I have participated in, and I can't wait to see how it works! It's not starting until Jun 30th, so you still have plenty of time to go to Time 4 Kindergarten's post and join up with the Facebook group!
I also hope to figure out how to add an Instagram and/or Twitter feed on my blog. I've seen them on the side bars of other blogs and think they look so cool!! If anyone knows how to install that nifty gadget, please let me know!! :-)

HAPPY TO:

I'm happy to go to the doctor's tomorrow and get Round 5 of laser treatments. After tomorrow's treatment the doctor said I'm allowed to be weight-bearing again!! I have to use crutches or a walker for a few weeks, and after a few more laser treatments I should be able to walk with just the brace. I'm so excited to be weight-bearing again!! After tomorrow I'll get to walk around with crutches. I'll be super-slow but I'll be able to use both legs to walk again!! I imagine it'll be sore for a while and take a while to get strength back, but I'm ver excited to get started!!

Come on over to Teaching Trio and link up to share what your week has in store for you! Don't forget to leave comments on some of the other folks who have linked up!!

Don't forget!! You can still link up with us for Spotlight Saturday! Come on over and Spotlight your favorite product, resource, activity, or idea!! I Spotlighted some FREEBIES and an AWESOME blogger T-shirt deal from A + Images!!

Sunday Scoop

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! Not too many more weeks before my school is officially on summer vacation! It's Sunday so that means I am linking up with Teaching Trio for their awesome Sunday Scoop linky party!

If you've never heard of it before, it's a linky where your blog post follows that ever-popular organizer! You write about 3 things you HAVE to do, 2 things you HOPE to do, and 1 think you're HAPPY to do. Love linking up with this weekly linky! Here's my Sunday Scoop!

Have to:  I lost my ear buds. I think the couch ate them. I really need to find them so I can jam out to my favorite tunes! I am still fighting the battle of the Pile of Laundry, but I fear I am losing... Finally, I need to organize the files on my hard drive. I don't know what I have or if I have doubles of things or what....it's a sloppy mess and I need to get it better organized.

Hope to: Post at least 3 products to TPT this week. I have set a personal goal for the summer and I'm trying hard to reach it! I want to advertise Spotlight Saturday as much as possible so lots and lots of folks will link up. Do you want to link up? Just click on the image below!!

Happy to: Break in my brand new box of crayons! I love to color, it's a big stress relief for me! My favorite time to color is in the morning before lunch time. There's nothing better than bright, natural light when you're working on art projects!

Hop on over to see the Teaching Trio
and link up with their Sunday Scoop linky party!
